Scams, Viruses, Privacy Control

We wanted to remind you all that if we find suspicious links to freebies, samples, and coupons, we will NOT post them! (If we find out it's a fake, you will be notified immediately!) There are bloggers who do not or cannot identify illegitimate websites and you can count on us to try to keep your computers clean and your information safe! If there is a coupon or a sample that seems too good to be true, it probably is.

However, many companies require you to turn off your secure browsing in order to see a sample or coupon request form, and you can get Mal-ware & Ad-ware, on your computer! Both of these obtain your personal information and can track what you do online and lead you to viruses!

If you have Windows, we would recommend downloading and using CCleaner to clean your computer history and cookies each day. This will help your computer run faster as well.

PLEASE have a good anti-virus protection on your computer and scan regularly! If you are concerned about any of the links we post or want to know how you can protect your computer, ask us. The behind-the-scene Administrators of our blog and Facebook page are IT Professionals and helps us identify any issues.

One last tip for giving out your personal information...

Personally, I will NEVER give out my current home/cell phone number. You can acquire a "Google Voice" number for free and this is one you can give out! Create a "Sample/Coupon" email address specifically for this. You will start to see A LOT of spam once you give out your email address. I also never give out real birth dates, my children's names, SSN, or credit card information. If a sample is requiring the last two, then I would report it immediately!

Unfortunately, great companies fall victim to unauthorized and criminal access who create a page similar to the actual company website. These are called Fake Freebies. If you cannot find a "Contact Us" page with a mailing address, email, and phone number located within the U.S., then it is highly likely a scam or spammer trying to obtain your information.
