Well, Halloween has now come and gone...(rather quickly, I think!) and how it's time to get a head start (I might actually be somewhat behind..) on making and buying Christmas gifts. With the recession still going on, many might still be out of work, might not be getting that Christmas bonus (again) this year, or haven't seen a raise in a while...so, I'm giving you ideas on how you can $ave on spending and giving!
~Do it YOURSELF!
You've heard this so many times, I know! But it really is not that hard, and anyone can do it! For a list of easy DIY gifts, check out Martha Stewart's website. She has a HUGE load of ideas from every holiday or occasion AND she always tells you how to do it. *And people, it's handmade, it doesn't need to be PERFECT, that's the beauty in it! Finding a great blog with How-To Tutorials on crafts is also a great place to find ideas, so search around! Some of the blogs I Follow have amazing ideas-Check them out!
~SALES, SALES, SALES!
~Find ways to EARN $$$!
If you don't have money to spend in the first place, and really want to give gifts, find something you can do on the side that will earn you a little cash. i.e. babysitting, pet-sitting, rake some leaves, offer your services in your talents/skills, get a Seasonal job! So many people need help during the holidays, so let them know you're there!
~FREE Gift-giving!
Alright, You KNOW you all have done this...RE-GIFTING! It's not as tacky as many think. It's simple and thoughtful, actually. If you were given a gift card to a place that you'd NEVER shop at, then why be selfish and let it sit in your wallet un-used when you know someone that would LOVE to have it? LET IT GO!
Now get out there and get to work!
